LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
BY JULIE RIVETT

HAVING ENTERED INTO THE WEDDING INDUSTRY, 12 years ago with very little experience other than being married myself, has taught me many valuable lessons. A list too long to start and one I hope never ends. One of the important things I know is that “You get back what you give out.”  So every Bride who walks through my doors gets my understanding, my experience and my appreciation as well as, the wedding vendors that I work with, they get my friendship, my respect and my willingness to make their experience just as great as the brides.

Ascension Parish to me is a blessed place to work, live and raise my family. The people here have the biggest hearts and most compassionate souls. We have so much experience and talent in this area. Brides need look no further to enlist help with their wedding plans. So in honor of those people and especially those wedding professionals, my journey began to create a publication that will reflect our uniqueness, expertise and sense of beauty and style. This process began in my head many years ago and came to fruition when I spoke about it to a friend who said “You could do that... you would be perfect for the task.” So it began. With tremendous support from Ascension Parish wedding vendors and a magnificent graphic designer and colleague we present to you Southern Grace Weddings Magazine. We have nurtured it as if it were our child and now we are ready to see it flourish and grow.

Our first issue of Southern Grace Weddings will guide you through the aspects to the start of your life together and after as you pledge your love to each other and the world. Saturated with all that is Southern, this publication will invite you to experience the comfort of your family traditions and heritage. The legacy that you share will be passed along to your family. Trends come and go but there will always be the charm and mystique of Southern Grace.
